The Young Friends

It doesn't get much better, daydream wise, than 'The Young Friends,' their catchy pop tunes kept playing over and over, while in class today. You just can't deny the catchyness(?) of this band. The incredible "North End / South End EP," that's free I might add, is quickly becoming on of my favorite EP's of this year. On "Make Out Point," jangly guitar hooks mash with the moan of simple yet perfect lyrics, "New girl came from out of town, know this time I'll come around. Lonely boy you've done it now, go ahead and ask her out." Snag "Make Out Point," "North End," and check the dates, after the jump.

Sleep In Sundays

What comes to mind when you think of fall? Kids plunging into massive piles of orange and burgundy maple leaves, the smell of hot apple cider, gooey pumpkin carving, cozy scarves, family? All things I think about when I listen to "Sleep In Sundays," 'Autumn Air.' Words do not do this song justice. A tender piano piece and glimmering chimes have the ability transport you to a time where, sipping hot coco and watching classic Peanuts cartoons were your first and only priority. Snag a copy of both "Autumn Air" and "Go To Sleep," after the jump.

Venice Is Sinking

"Venice Is Sinking," is a blissful pop group from Athens, Georgia. Charming vocals and heartwarming instrumentals make this band a long overdue addition to the indie-pop realm. On "Okay," the title track on the bands phenomenal EP, Daniel and Karolyn croon as the song progressively starts to gather momentum and eventually erupts into an epic 'Granddaddy-esque' anthem. Pick up "Okay," "Compass," and watch the brand new video for "Okay," after the jump.

Tan Dollar

'Tan Dollar' is a great three person pop outfit based out of Irvine, California that produce a massive sound. Heartwarming keyboard pieces and epic drum productions are this bands main attributes. "The Turning Point," the bands stand out single, is on the brink of pop perfection. Sunny synth, crashing drums, warm vocals, are all implemented to produce one outstanding song. With fall just around the corner 'TD' is the ideal soundtrack for the months ahead. Grab "The Turning Point," "Chinese Song," and peep the tour dates, all after the jump.

Yarn Owl

I'm proud to say that this up and coming band is from our home state Washington, Pullman to be exact. 'Yarn Owl' produces some legitimate garage pop tunes and are signed to the SE favorite Leftist Nautical Antiques. "Yarn Blues" is basically what indie pop should sound like, its got all the basics, sunny lyrics, jangly guitar riffs and shimmering percussion. Besides the exquisite instrumentals the vocals are pitch perfect, charming and stylistic, just a all around joy to listen to. Grab "Yarn Blues," "Without You," and check out the dates, after the jump.
